In Plain Sight is the first feature
length High Definition film to be produced at the University of Miami. The
project came about when Emmy Award winning cinematographer Joseph
Mecarriello agreed to lend his talent and his Panasonic Varicam to
the project. Don Garvey and Mike Connelly worked on developing
a script that would fit within the paramaters of the "budget" (credit
cards) that first time director, Brian Cavallaro was working
with. The utilization of inexpensive tape stock and the
flexible nature of shooting with a high definition camera, allowed
for the project to be completed within thirteen days. In
Plain Sight was made possible through
the collaboration of over one hunderd talented actors, technicians,
crew members and musicians who gave their time and experience to
the project for the love of making movies.
